JA+U
An online magazine from Japan showcasing the latest architectural works from across the globe. Read More
JA+U is the fusion of two English magazines: JA (the Japan Architect) and a+u (Architecture & Urbanism). Their editorial concept not only introduces the latest architecture from within Japan to the outside world, but also presents high-quality works judiciously gathered from across the globe.
I was tasked with planning the information architecture, wireframes and design. To showcase the magazines I created a shelf like carousel area at the top of the homepage and product pages. Textures of building materials were used as backgrounds for these carousels. To put more emphasis on the work on article pages, large featured images were used. A subdued color palette was chosen to complement the beautifully photographed architecture and the magazine covers.
